If there is one thing I know about, it is change.
I have been through an awful lot of changes in the past few years. Some changes I chose for myself like trying out a new career, and some I didn’t choose like my mom getting sick with Alzheimer’s disease.
Any change can be quite unsettling, but adapting to unforeseen changes can be especially hard.
We have all had our fair share of changes this year with the unforeseen arrival of Covid-19. So many things have changed in our lives in such a short time like people working from home and most of us wearing masks in public.
In all this change, the ground can seem unsteady. Along with change often comes anxiety and fear. How can you cope with that fear?
Thankfully, there is ONE who we can always look towards that is always the same. It is Jesus! He is the same today as he was yesterday. His words and His truth are always the same, and He is always there ready for us to come to Him.
Thank you, Jesus! Now, that is something worth celebrating and praising!
Here are a few scriptures to keep your feet grounded and looking up to the ONE that NEVER changes:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever,” (Hebrews 13:8 NIV).
“For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed, (Malachi 3:6 ESV).
“Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens,” (Psalm 119:89).
Not only does God himself not change, but His word does not change either. No bending or breaking of His word. It is firmly fixed in Heaven. There is no change from generation to generation. For that, I am so very thankful.
I wish you a time of God’s steadfast love this Thanksgiving. I hope you find peace in knowing that in all the changes in our lives, God remains the same FOREVER. You can TRUST Him!
Be Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving,
